Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have encountered numerous entertaining indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a hero that is actually a turd attempting to travel to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: press a single jump button. Throughout one hundred fifty challenges, you'll face mini-bosses and access a store to acquire customizations for your fecal avatar.

Execute your jumps carefully, since one error means starting over. Leap using floating orbs to hurl yourself upward, cross fragile ledges, and activate buttons to reveal hidden paths. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on challenging game content in which gameplay ramps up.

Graphically, the demo shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist graphics with shifting abstract forms may remind fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to recall previous releases where you play as a piece of feces, video games have long incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create throwables from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, such content appears extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its silly idea, Unko Technica has already received significant accolades, like being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is ready at present on Steam, with the final release set to launch on computers in the fall.
