England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
