The relatives of teens unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are confronting an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for information about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified footage show the roof structure catching alight as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Authorities have warned that it could take an extended period to formally name the victims of the disaster, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and injured another 119. Officials stated on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process continuing to identify the remaining few.

In the interim, loved ones have been using social media to plead for any news about their loved ones who were in attendance that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his mother.

"A companion said they escaped after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators stated, "I've always been struck by his kindness and positive demeanor, coupled with great maturity. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also at the bar on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
