The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
