The Miami Heat scored eighty-six opening half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies

Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups was also arrested as part of a broad FBI investigation into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the claims.

However, the Heat were not distracted as they recorded 86 opening half points to be ahead of Memphis by 39 at halftime, the largest halftime lead in the franchise's 37 year history.

Bam Adebayo top-scored with 24 points and later stated Rozier had the support of the team.

"We stand behind him. Full support," Bam said. "We are with him all the way. He's like family ultimately."

Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra added: "Rozier is a person who is important to all of us. He has made a beneficial influence on our team.

"We send our thoughts and our care for him as he faces the situation."

Portland also secured their initial match since the arrests, with Brazil-born Splitter stepping in as interim coach in Billups' non-attendance and leading the team to a convincing 139 to 119 win over the Warriors.

"Everyone experienced great experiences with Billups and how he coached," Tiago said. "Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones but our focus is on the game."

NBA Commissioner Silver 'Upset' over Recent Events

Speaking about the arrests for the first time, league head Silver said he was "deeply disturbed" by the events of the recent days.

"Nothing is more critical to the NBA and its fans than the integrity of the competition," he informed Amazon Prime. "Therefore I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."

The commissioner further mentioned an league probe into Rozier's actions in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a game he played for the Hornets versus the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he continued.

"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the league office can't do.

"So, we've been working with them from that point. And, of course, what they revealed recently was an charge.

"And 30 months later, he has not been found guilty of anything, in fairness to Terry.

"Obviously, it doesn't look good, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a balance here between protecting people's rights and investigating."
