Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Way Too Hard

The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are protesting against some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Gamers have begun using custom matches made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how arduous these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments

Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four categories of assignments, but although many only reward outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of obtaining 12 of the 41 key firearms present in the game.

Several of these restricted firearms might eventually earn a place on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so awful and entirely ill-conceived, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at very short distances, which is seldom the location you aim to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Extremely Difficult Challenge

One more community participant brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons

This is difficult enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps a classic map in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from over 200m away.

The Bypass

Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This implies you can cheese the system… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.

However, when completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for finishing these in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?

Potential Changes

It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

Currently, the player base continues to express their views on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a less arduous overall gameplay in coming revisions.
